Comments
Went for a walk at Ptarmigan Cirque not expecting to get any turns in. We ended up riding some mellow open slopes on the SW side (facing the road). We also noticed a lot of surface hoar on our walk in. The snow quality was better than expected and we got some fresh turns in. Snow seems to be about 10 cm of fresh snow on top of a more dense snow pact.
There was also a group of snowboarders building a jump and having a good time. Many snowshoers and hikers in the area as well.
We were able to do a couple laps and end back onto the road, a few min walk away from the Highwood pass (pocaterra) lot. The lot was full and there were many groups riding in the pocaterra area.
Some sharks to watch out for (especially below treeline). Overall, still better snow quality and less sharks in comparison to Lake Louise ski resort.
