Mirror mirror on the snow, when will this crust finally go? It was back to the Prince of Wales range for us today and despite the inversion that we have had going strong since Saturday, all the snow that isn't solar affected is hard. The only bit of soft snow we found was in very direct sunlight. That said, sunshine was not strong enough to break down the burly surface crust more than a few centimetres deep.
Depending how you are getting around, travel right now can be rough. It is easy moving by foot (with the right gear), the skiing is hard unless you're right in the sun, and the sledding would be fast moving if it weren't for the overheating, exposed roads, stumps, and creeks, as well as copious downed trees.
Okay mother nature, enough with spring. Bring back winter!
