Comments
Weakly supportive snow with lots of trap doors made for tedious trail breaking and punchy turns. Need another 30+cm to provide better coverage over exposed shrubs. HS 95cm at 2000m, NW aspect with the upper 65cm fist to 4 finger consistency and sugary facets below to ground. The Dec 15 surface hoar is dn 55cm and I suspect was the layer that was settling on us all day. That said we saw no new Avy activity. Wx cloudy, -5C mid day, winds light W, flurries with trace snow accum.
