Comments
Conditions are highly variable. A few times from boot top pow to bullet proof in the space of a turn above tree line. Below tree line good snow remains on north / east facing terrain. Top 50-75mm very wet & sloughing off when disturbed on south facing slopes in the alpine. Air temps to about 5C yesterday with very light winds, 10cm snow temps remained around -8C on shaded aspects in the alpine. Widespread surface hoar growth on all aspects below 1750m - for the most part around 15mm in size, but up to 40mm in sheltered areas near the edges of cutblocks.
