A 25cm layer new of snow from Saturday night's storm was generally consistent from the trailhead to the peak, and it was still snowing heavily as we started the ascent.Texture: loose and soft powder.
In two compression tests on the mellow ridge near the summit, we observed easy failure at the union between the storm snow and the existing snowpack at a depth of ~30cm from the surface.
