Comments
1700 m NE aspect 17° slope
-4°c 2:15 pm
Surface 20 cm of storm snow
ECT11 collapse 10 cm down
ECT18 collapse 20 cm down
ECT27 popped and slid @ 20 cm down on thin melt freeze crust arrested itself quickly.
Fist down 20 cm to the melt freeze crust, then finger snow to 30 cm & pencil below.
Nice brisk touring conditions from hwy through the old growth forest, gave way to windy & icy conditions on very top of the ridge. Signs of wind loading at the access/egress to the north bowl. Great riding in the north facing bowl. Cornices on the NE facing cliffs still hanging out, as well as along the ridge. Gave them a wide berth.
