Comments
Most obvious skin track up to approach ridge is pretty close to the Needle summer trail climb, suggest climbing a little further west to avoid the steep crusty tight trees.
We were surprised by sun on Sunday! Fun dust on crust early in the day, but by afternoon sun-affected slopes were pretty heavy. There appears to be a firm layer 5-10cm down but seemed to be bonding ok. Noted pinwheeling and some very small loose wet point releases near sun-exposed rocks.
Cornices at the top of NE slopes including some aspects of Flatiron bowl, be careful with entry!
Moderate SW wind along the approach ridge in the afternoon.
