Comments
The heat and sun hit the alpine today, and elevated the avalanche danger. We saw numerous cornice failures, and slabs avalanches on solar soaked South facing, and Southeast facing aspects. Strong Southwest Winds had snow moving in the the morning, but as the sun warmed it up, the snow sat down and got heavy.
We also saw a lot of great looking, but definitely dangerous, snow loaded slopes with cornices lurking above. We caution activity on such slopes over the next couple warm days.
