Comments
Were looking to the skys today, but the col had some big cornices guarding it and told our story otherwise. Big chunks of cornice had broken off and run almost full path. Lots of older avalanche debris mixing between sluff and slabby coming off the approach/descent shoulders.
Skiing was also a mixed bag. Some nice powder up at our high points, paid for it a little lower with some hard wind affect. Then decent skiing again in the trees.
Looked like a one and done kinda day till we ventured up for a quick lap on Paget to bring us down to the hiking trail. Conditions there were actually pretty decent. Some fun powder turns.
Little bit of sun in the AM, no wind. Clouds in the afternoon with winds picking up to light and brutally cold on the face as we got higher and came on and off for the rest of the day keeping things quite cold without the sun.
