Comments

We skied the Dolomite today - the very 1st avie path you cross (maybe 20 minutes from road)

going clockwise just over the ridge from the parking lot down to the stream has slid a few days ago.

What is notable is that it was full path, taking out the trees that used to frame that short downhill to the creek.

In my 30 years of skiing that route at least once a year, I have never seen that slide come so far. The last cycle generated some big ones!

While the circuit skied very nicely with ordinary avie caution, I thought it was worth reporting the above just because it was unusually large.

Several other nearby slide paths have also released, but not quite as large as this one.

Notes. Photo by Pat Morrow. I had previously submitted a similar report but with the wrong date (Feb 6). This is the correct one and now includes a photo.
