Comments

Spent the day on Mt Washington BTL-TL. Mostly overcast with a trace of new, moderate winds coming out of the Northwest. Air temp mid day on the ridge was around -13. Dug a profile at 1500m, NE aspect, open area at TL. Upper snow pack is well consolidated,70 cm down still sits a MFcr(11/24/22)with some decomposing surface hoar, Faceted snow found at the bottom 30-40cm of the snowpack. HS was around 120-150. Compression test hard 22, sudden planar, down 105cm failed on the facets. No natural or human triggered avalanche activity observed but visibility was poor most of the day.
