We went on a field trip to Wolverine Valley in the backcountry near Lake Louise ski area and observed generally calm conditions with little to no wind effect in the area. At 2500m, the snow depth measured 65cm. Our snow profile on a north aspect revealed the October crust at the base, with signs of faceting both above and below the crust.
