Comments
Some wind transport overnight from moderate SE winds at Tree Line and exposed BTL (Mary's run) where pockets of windslab were forming in immediate lees. One member of group experienced some cracking in a small pocket of windslab on a steeper wind loaded roll in a relatively sheltered area just below ridge crest. Previously moist surface snow below 900m tightening up today with cooler temps, light flurries throughout the day. Poor visibility/flat light in the alpine, but recent debris visible in several gullies across the way (blue boy area) all stopping in track. A quick compression test yesterday in the Knolls area (just above freezing level) produced hard sudden planer results (CTH28) down approx. 50cm on facets (Jan.18).
