Comments
No rain crust was found on the appriach at valley bottom.
10 cm of light snow over about 20-30 cm of denser snow on the old uptrack.
Saw Na sz 1 on the steep slope below cliffs from yesterday, scraped to ground but didn't run far (see pic).
No NA activity was heard today except of one small sluff observed from steep terrain. Vis was mostly poor.
Crowfoot couloir had derby close to the bottom of the fan from yesterday.
On our first lap found wind affected snow on the benches with ski pen 10cm or less. Skied down mellow glades (NW) and avoided skiers left steeper terrain that was noticeably wind affected and cross loaded. For the rest of the day lapped road facing gullies (N aspect) with great snow 30cm ski pen. Dry top snow seemed well bonded to the denser snow below from a warmer part of the last storm. No sluffing except on very steep features. No instabilies or slabbing were noticed.
