Comments

We climbed Xena (or Cosban, left flow) early April 30. Rapid warming made us abandon the plan to climb right flow. While having tea at 10h30 back in the trees we observed numerous small mushrooms fail around ridgetop, trigerring size 1-1.5 sluffs running hundred of meters to the big ledge above the climbs. The wall sees the sun early morning and was still in the sun when we left.

Hard supportive crust (on snowshoes) in valley bottom, 30cm slab at base of climb, well bonded. Lots of snow available for transport above climbs.

Saw bear, wolverine? and wolf tracks, critters are out.

Lots of cornices and snow mushrooms up high, many of them failed and triggered big size 1-1.5 sluffs around 11 am. The wall gets sun early morning and was in the sun when we walked out at 11 am.
