Comments
HST in Castleguard Meadows was ~25cm. HS on an exposed bump at the top of the meadows/ high treeline was 230. Minor sloughing on sun crust on steep solar aspects. Great tree skiing right now. Light to moderate winds are at work in the alpine, and cornices are menacing.
The Saskatchewan Glacier probed 5-240+cm of dense, wind-packed snow. Everything between treeline at Big Bend and Castleguard Meadows was severely wind hammered. Dry loose to size 1 noted in gully features, and some small cornice releases entraining, but without slabs.
