Comments
Hiked Silvertip via the NW gully. Minimal new snow in area. Large avalanche debris at base of Silvertip NW gully, nearly the entire gully has slid down to a icy bed layer close to the ground. Solid melt-freeze crusts at lower elevations on non-shady aspects. At ~2000m on Northern aspects, encountered deep unconsolidated powder from wind deposit. No slab formation. South side of ridge crest was wind scoured.
On the hike out, observed steep, unsupported, solar aspects slide in Sumallo Cirque at 1030am. Size 2-3.
