Comments
Participated in an AST1 course. Stuck to the trails and smaller cut locks close to the cabin doing beacon work and recovery practice. Dug a couple pits. Bottom layer of crystallized snow shown in the one picture of the upside down compression test block and during compression test we found a weak layer around 60cm giving the potential for slab movement. Snowed hard most of the day mostly heavier powder with some intermittent periods of round grainy snow pellets. Still low amount of snow and many hidden hazards but overall a great day in the hills with a great group.
