Comments
Stayed on windward slopes to avoid huge amount of wind transported snow on lee slopes. In alpine the snow was severely wind affected with sastrugi seen and some areas significantly scoured down to ice crust. Once into Iago bowl the quality of the snow improved markedly the further down and more wind protected. Some fun laps were had. No instability noted even on 35 degree aspects. -13 in the alpine made transition to ski an uncomfortable affair but the sun and bluebird sky more than made up for it. No ECT performed today but notable ice crust at about 35cm.
