• 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifting, or rain in the last 48 hours.

Excellent powder conditions on the NRC slope. Moderate SW winds. S-1 at times. Obvious wind affected snow on the windward side of ridges at TL and above. Dug a pit @ 2010m on a 35-degree W slope in open trees (no wind exposure) just to see what's going on in the snow. 8-10cm rain crust is now buried 100cm down and faceted above, below, and in the middle. 4F hardness. Storm snow is F (not slabby) down to 4F close to the rain crust. In sheltered area, powder conditions with a nice firm base - from it being tracked out after the last few storms. Beware: the lower rock slabs on the main slidepath aren't quite ready yet. Very thin! My bases are crying.
