~10cms of new snow on top of a supportive melt/freeze crust made for creamy turns. Rare conditions for HBM alpine where there was no wind effect in the new snow. The sun was in & out of cloud breaks for most of the day which kept things cool and did not affect the new snow UNTIL about 3pm the sun came out in full force and quickly made the surface snow moist producing pinwheeling. See one of the photos of a cornice failure triggering a slide into Crater Lake.
