Comments
Foot penetration was about 45cm on a right-side-up settling snowpack. Great powder sledding below treeline and at treeline. Winds were calm in most places, but at about 1550m the winds were blowing moderate to strong from the east. The snow was wind-pressed at this elevation, and there was some redistribution of the surface snow. I'd be watching for touchy wind slabs in the lee of ridge crests. We also saw evidence of loose wet avalanche activity to size 1.5 from a few days ago on steep, south-facing terrain.
