Comments

We were on Helen Shoulder and observed these two size 1.5 natural avalanches. They were not there around noon and then saw them around 13:30. They came off the east aspect of the south ridge (climb route) on Cirque Peak. There was a spike in westerly winds to 80ish KM/h early afternoon. A couple times we had to engage 'the stance' to not get blown over. We assume these winds were the trigger. One of the two slides had a big cornice chunk in it and we were looking from multiple KM's away
