S aspect at treeline. 30-35 degree slope. A thick 15cm sun / wind crust at the surface sits on a layer of facets. This surface crust was super easy to trigger - it did not propagate very far but made for challenging skiing.
Below that the snowpack looked the right side up, however the late January interface was still reactive.
