Comments
Riding near Yanks Peak today. Soft undisturbed powder found in sheltered areas in the trees. Found a layer of feathery surface hoar buried 30 cm below the surface. Was reactive in snowpack tests, but the snow sitting above is lacking slab property (still very soft and light) to show the ability to propagate. Still it is something to keep in mind if venturing into steep, convex undisturbed open glades.
