Comments
Great riding in upper dewey. Although avaluator and snowpack tests indicated stable snow, we stayed below 1200m in areas without significant overhead exposure to minimize the risk since there is no professional reporting for the area.
The approach to upper dewy is difficult with 70lbs pack. Good crampons are required for first 400m and snowshoes are needed above 500m.
Riding on the east side of ridge to devils punchbowl and on north side of ridge in centre of the valley is very good. Significant wind effect on west and spine of ridge to devils punchbowl.
