The Deep Blue

Excellent day of riding in Hasler with about 20-30cm of soft powder over firmer snow. We saw a couple of thin wind slabs in the alpine but no avalanches running on any deeper layers. We did find a weak layer of buried surface hoar down around 45cm but experienced no signs of instability like shooting cracks, even when we cut small steep test slopes. The best riding was around treeline and low elevation alpine zones as high up the ridges were often wind scoured with only about 10cm of powder on top to hide all the rocks. Overall a great day with lots of good views!
