Comments
10-20 cm low-density storm snow on the surface made for very good ski quality. No wind effect; fluff, ridge to the valley. The snowpack is weak and we broke through in many places putting in the uptrack. While the ski quality was good on the way down, it was tentative skiing with the shallow, weak snowpack and hidden rocks. The profile showed mid and lower snowpack failures on facets. On this tour, we stayed entirely on low-angled terrain.
