Comments

AST course in Powell River backcountry on Sentinel Ridge. Sometimes our snow pack is more like South Coast, sometimes S2S. We were out hunting for weak layers. Could not find SH, but did find widespread crust with facets overlying. Difficult to trigger from deep, lee aspects. Ski cut size 1 on cross-loaded ENE slope. Ran on crust/facet layer, down 40-50cm.
