Great day for the Great Glacier Trail! We were able to hike the first 2/3 of the trail (snowpack was roughly 15-30cm) before needing snowshoes when we left the treeline. These were super helpful for the short, last leg of the trail, especially when the snowpack got closer to 50cm. Saw some skin tracks both on our side (Great Glacier) and also toward Sir Donald, but would not recommend skiing around here yet as there is little coverage. A solid choice for a winter activity if you’re itching to get out but don’t want to risk core shots.
