Comments
All aspects in subalpine and alpine are really wind affected. Breakable wind crust and shooting cracks. Digged a pit on se aspect at 1700. Cte5 20 cm below s (sp) stiff wind slab, ctm15 down 50 cm (sp) failed on evident surface hoar, Cth21 20 cm above mid November ice crust (sp) failed on growing facets 1mm. We didn t go any further. I guess some good light density snow can be found in sheltered areas in treeline.
