Wanted to check out how the new snow was at Mt Myra or hopefully start skiing the corn as the sun hit. We did neither - started at the parking lot at 5am and up tennent lake trail till approx 800m where we transitioned to skis with ski crampons - it was clear that temps dropped below 0 as nothing was soft. Gained the North Basin via East Tennant Creek. There was approx 1-2 inch very hard crust that was supportive to skis but would give way under a boot. Started making our way up to the ridge. Evidence of widespread pinwheeling and a large wet slide path off the couloir to climbers left in the basin from what my guess is last weekend. Crust became almost exclusively ice with only ski crampons penetrating the surface. We had to turn back at approximately 1400m as we had to make a time commitments back home. We did not get enough sun to soften the crust to get corn and it was a terrible ride down ice and punch crust. Did not experience any instability but was out of the area before any significant sun baked the slope. I would guess there will be good corn skiing for those who are willing to make the trek.
