Comments
Behind the Burnt Knob today looking for evidence of surface hoar buried on Dec 25. At our test site @1710m in a N asp glade we didn’t find surface hoar. Snowpack test results gave a hard, resistant result on a layer down 50cm. We could find the deeper weak layers from early December down 150cm, but they were not concerning at our location.
We felt we could cautiously enter small, steeper lines, which we did and got no results ski cutting.
