Skied in the manning park region for 3 days from 18-20th. We saw a widespread Na cycle mid storm, suspect to be failing on the march 11th SH? Found this 5-6mm SH down 35cm and well preserved on North aspects . It was reacting CTM (SP) in a Test Pit. Sun crust has formed on all but true north aspects. No deeper instabilities noted, even with a significant cornice drop on a North aspect slope. No reactivity to skier traffic, but we backed off of slopes where we found lingering SH and/or hadn't previously slid.
Dropped this minivan sized cornice into bowl before skiing it. Triggered one small slab down 60cm with very limited propagation given the mass hitting the slope.
