Comments

Afternoon ski up to top of McKendrick (just east of Babine Provincial Park). Significant snow transport from north/west wind on all alpine elevation. Whumpfing on east (lee) aspect along micro features on low angle terrain near treeline/alpine transition. West facing chute (see pictures) is completely scoured by strong gust blowing up the chute. Sun was warm during the hottest time of day (+5c max) so temperature crust was forming on lee aspect in open areas by end of day. However, the quality of powder in dense trees/sheltered area remains unaffected especially below the inversion elevation.
