Comments
Our party of 5 departed for Egypt Lake Shelter on March 6th from the Sunshine Village parking lot. It took us approximately 7 hours to get to our destination. After a long day of constant snow fall and low visibility we decided to stay in for the night instead of trying to find some slopes. On March 6th, our party headed for the Pharoah Lake trees where we found some decent tree skiing. After that, a couple of us went to the Egypt Lake couloir and found some really nice turns. The new snow made for some really fun skiing, but we were cautious as our snowpack test showed weak layers at 55cm and 65cm. On March 8th we skied out with some sun and cooler temperatures.
