Comments

Good day out at Core Lodge, the morning was calm with a little bit of sun with the afternoon bringing higher winds and a few cm of new snow with temperatures around -7 all day.

The sheltered areas held ~40cm of powder snow and the riding was good. HS140 below hot dog stand

We dug our pit on a wind exposed NE aspect and found the most recent snow to be reactive in the easy range, this layer varied from 0 to 15cm depending on loading.

We also found another layer reacting in the hard range down 45cm. HS variable from 180 - 200+ due to wind loading.

Extended column test yielded no results.

Propagation saw test on the layer down 45 also yielded no results.

The slope adjacent from the hot dog stand looks to have slid with the last avalanche cycle.
