Great run on Glacier Crest although the trail breaking up to the summit ridge required a lot of effort with all the snow ! We dropped down towards Asulkan as we suspected loading on the pillow lines from the S’ly winds earlier this week. No wind effect observed up the ridge and probed an HS of 285cm. Skiing down was a blast - the snow still had a decent amount of moisture so there was minimal sloughing and we didn’t encounter any slabby areas. Although some tree bombs dropped, especially closer to the Asulkan trail, you could easily find plenty of snow everywhere to get around them with minimal effort. Temps were hovering around zero by the time we left and there was minimal wind throughout the day. Wind affect could be observed in the alpine near the Dome though ...
