Comments

Heavy amounts of snow fall for most of the morning then tapering off in the afternoon made for a very conservative day besides the fact that this was a sledder AST 1 course. We observed two predominant crust layers for the past week. The first only down 10-15cm and failing with a pop and drop just from cutting the back of the CT column. The second crust was down 45-50 and much more stubborn then expected, and not really producing significant results. We did how ever record a CTH 26 dn 52cm RP on DF/SH @1900ish on a 20deg. ENE aspect. In open trees below a steep ridge. Great crew, great snow pack to learn a lot. Avoided anything big, open, steep or blind exposure from above from limited Vis.
