We rode cutblocks around 24 Mile thinking sheltered trees could be good terrain to investigate buried surface hoar layers. There was about 20 cm of fresh snow over generally settled snow below. We found the Feb 22 surface hoar layer about 30 cm below the surface, but the crystals were mostly small and we didn't get any significant snowpack test results.
