An OK Cokely day

Quick trip up to Cokely to check on the crust formation situation and were somewhat pleased to find about 4 cm of softer moist snow sitting on a supportive 10 cm crust. In some places the crust is pretty much at the surface.

The soft surface offered reasonable purchase for skinning and decent edging on descent. It could get pretty unpleasant if this surface layer froze up, but there's precipitation in the forecast that should forestall that scenario.

We parked 1/2 km past the gate, managing icy ruts on the flat road during the final couple of km.
