Comments

The cold weather has done a nice job preserving the recent storm snow and sucking the moisture out, creating a nice low density surface snow down to 40-60cm. 40-50cm boot pen and 20-30cm ski pen. Noted some cracking on skin track where recent loading occurred and observed the avalanche from Feb 7. The wind has transported 20+cm on the avalanche start zone and track with a crown still present. It was hard to determine what that avalanche failed on but it could be the stellars down 60cm. Ski cut a size 1 on a 40+ degree SE slope that released a 5-10cm wind slab. Did not notice any new avalanches. Good powder skiing with no movement on descent. Stay frosty, well that’s not hard right now, wind slabs may be a problem.
