Comments
Dug a pit adjacent our Day 1 AST2 (Dec 19)
Here are the results: CTM 14 down 45 (RP) on Storm slab interface
CTH 24 down 70 (RP) on (Dec 7 PWL)
Based on these results, the snowpack in the Powder King area is settling/bonding.
At Alpine elevations- cross loaded terrain showed soft slab wind slab cracking and size .5 sluffs on ski cuts on unsupported terrain.
We also observed Surface Hoar growth (up to size 6mm) on all aspects at 1350M and above.
Also conducted an ECT AND PST on a NW slope at the Treeline Elevation band in a wind protected area. ECTN (no results observed)
PST testing showed no conclusive results. No layers dropped or popped.
