Sled training day - deep bottomless powder with fresh winds kept us in simple, low angle terrain below treeline.
40 cm new snow from last 24 hours.
65 cm new snow from last 72 hours.
We found a thick crust layer (buried November 5) 120 cm below the surface, with a thin layer of weak facets immediately above it. Snowpack tests indicated the storm snow would slide easily on sufficiently steep slopes.
