Comments

Rode around Lightning Strike, Craggs and Baldy areas Friday and Saturday. Dug a pit on the LS ridge on our first morning:

190cm base

2100m

NE aspect in lightly treed area, just off the ridge

Could feel the layers Avi Canada is tracking when digging but could get no results on either the storm snow or persistent weak layers

Columns felt like they gained strength during testing

Fun sugary snow found on all aspects apart from S where a 8-10mm sun crust had formed in open areas from the clear skies Wednesday. Skiing got better lower down in the denser treed areas.

Found some storm slabs on steeper W aspects that had reacted earlier in the week, but couldn't find any weakness when riding them.

Cloudy both days with very little wind. Temperatures ranged from -8 > -10 at all altitudes.

Snowpack felt solid everywhere we rode, great couple of days to be out in the mountains.
