A cold day out exploring near Monk Peak. We skied a couple of chutes in the bowl area N. of Monk Peak, and were lucky enough to see a group of of our friends dropping into Satan's Choice at the end of the day.
Snow quality on E aspects was excellent, wind affect noted at ridge top on all aspects. W-NW terrain showed wind affect down to TL in more open areas. The sun was out all day and by mid-afternoon a thin suncrust had began to form on steep solar aspects.
We cut a small windskin out of a N facing chute down 5cm that ran quite far, but did not note any other signs of instability. Overall an awesome day with very few people out!
