Comments

Rode Rogers Run today. Deep cold smoke. Minimal coverage closer to Connaught Creek and requires a fair bit of lollygagging to get out in one piece. Still worth it for the incredible powder. Don't be afraid to get your feet wet!

.

Very limited cracking above 2100m in wind swept areas and lees of features. Localized small wind slabs lee of features. One large whompf @ TL (~1900m) in open trees kept us very conservative on the down. Could be the Nov 5th facet/crust collapsing.

.

Test profile @ 2173m on E aspect lee of the main ridge in ALP

HS: 177cm, loose storm snow for the top 75cm (F to 4F), then 10cm rain crust (pretty much all facets by now.

CTH 22 (RP) down 60cm

CTH 23 (SP) down 85cm on 0.5-1mm facets (below crust)

Results were not repeatable so confidence is low. Hence, conservative skiing down the slope.
