Comments
We had a great day on Dolomite Shoulder. Sportive crust with ~10cm on top in most places. Very faceted below the crust. Skiing the trees back to the road was pretty enjoyable with the refresh. See my other MIN from the day for more snowpack observations.
We had a close remote trigger. While skiing down the SE ridge the NE wind loaded slope released and propagated up the ridge. No skiers were involved but we could have given the slope a wider berth. The experience was a good opportunity to reinforce the importance of communication, sharing thoughts freely, and having more detailed conversations about hazards, and route selection.
