Comments
Skied variable snow on Wolfsden, east side of the Kalum River Jan 8, 2017. Overnight wind redistributed yesterdays storm snow BTL through to Alp. Pit on west facing slope at 1100m found 20cm storm snow 4 finger to 1 finger over Jan 5 surface hoar. 50cm down Christmas surface hoar and 80 down the early Dec facet crust. Probed 180cm snow. Two compression tests with easy results on Jan 5 surface hoar (2nd tap), with hard results on Christmas Day surface hoar and hard again both above and below the facet crust. Temperatures were cold in the shade with a light wind. No new avalanches observed. Sky clear, Travel easy.
