Wanted to investigate the bond between the new storm snow and the Feb facets.

Dug an extended column test on a SE aspect at around 2200m. Height of snow was 200-210 with 35cm of storm snow on top of the facets. Solar aspects blessed us with a sunburn and a breakable crust 10cm down.

Storm snow is right side up ranging from fish hardness on top to 4 finger on the bottom. It sits on fist hard facets.

Our extended column test gave us a sudden planar result across the whole block on our 12th hit. The failure was on 0.5 - 1mm facets.

This reinforced our suspicions and we skied good snow conservatively.
